Brandon Gleaton
Executive Director
Brandon joined the Promise Program in June 2019. Access and opportunity are central to Brandon’s work. He worked as a Program Manager leading a team of Americorps members providing instructional support in Detroit schools. He has taught in public and charter schools, taught young adults pursuing their GED, coordinated SAT academic programming, and served as a peer mentor teaching assistant in Wayne State University’s College of Education, collaborating with faculty to facilitate a course titled “Becoming an Urban Educator,” which explored the intricacies of urban schools. Brandon is an alumnus of Wayne State University and University of Michigan – Dearborn obtaining a B.A. in Education and Master in Public Administration and Policy.

Moussa Traore
Postsecondary Success Coach
Moussa joined the Promise Program as its first-ever Postsecondary Success Coach in January 2019 after previously serving as the Hazel Park High School College Adviser from July 2016-June 2018. While serving as college adviser, Moussa was honored by the Michigan College Access Network as an Ombudsman Award winner at its 2018 College Access Impact Awards Dinner. Moussa is originally from the West African country of Mali and holds an Associate of General Studies degree from Lansing Community College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Arts and Humanities with a minor in Peace and Justice Studies from Michigan State University.

Desirée Quinn
College Adviser
Desirée is from Warren, MI, right down the street from Hazel Park High School! She graduated from Michigan State University with Bachelor of Science degrees in both Environmental Studies and Archaeology and a minor in Museum Studies. Her experiences as a low-income first-generation college student have made her passionate about education and access. Desirée is very excited to be back home to support the community as their college adviser.

Jerra Walker
Development Intern
Jerra joined the Promise Program team in summer 2020 as an intern. She attended Hazel Park Schools her entire life and is a current resident. Jerra’s goal is to network within the community, assist with fundraising and volunteer within the community. She holds state certifications in childhood development and is currently completing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resources from Phoenix University.

Briona Steward
Development Intern
Briona joined the Promise Program in August 2020 as an intern. She is from Inkster, MI, and is very excited to assist the team in any way that is beneficial to the student community. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Public Administration and Policy from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.
